A Rare and Fine White Porcelain Square Vase

Korean Choson Dynasty, 18th Century

This square, white porcelain bottle is a one of kind in typical Korean ceramics from the Choson dynasty (1392-1910).  It is covered overall with a clear and glossy blue-tinged smooth, white glaze with the naive foot rim unglazed.  The tall tapered neck rises to the square lipped mouth. It is in very find condition except a firing hair line crack on the base and one extended to the body.

Measurements: 7 1/8" High x 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" Diameter

*** An almost identical square shaped white porcelain bottle except with painted underglaze in blue was sold at Sotheby's, New York, Korean Works of Art, December 3, 1993, Lot #31. ***
