Rare Inlaid Celadon Pillow:       

Koryo Dynasty, 12th -13th  Century

This is a very rare, openwork inlaid celadon pillow with 2 sides decorated in inlaid white slip. A central rounded circle containing clouds are within a pair of circular lines, connected with openwork fungus shape and clouds. The other two long sides are both formed with slightly up-curved surfaces with inlaid triple chrysanthemum floral heads in the row of three within bordered circles inlaid in white slip in the double lines. One side panel was indented in the firing with spur marks, applied overall with a rich and bubble-suffused grey-green celadon glaze.

It has one side openwork tip chipped, otherwise it is in fine condition.
